Managing Staff Availability
Availability tells Glowcheck when a staff member is able to take appointments. The booking flow only shows time slots that fall within a staff member’s availability, preventing bookings outside working hours.
Two types of availability
Section titled “Two types of availability”Weekly schedule — the default recurring pattern. Set which days of the week someone works and their start/end times for each day.
Date overrides — exceptions to the weekly schedule for specific dates. Use these for holidays, vacations, sick days, or extra shifts.
Setting a weekly schedule

Section titled “For yourself”Go to Settings → Availability.
Toggle each day on or off and set the start and end times for the days you work. Tap Save when done.
For another staff member (Owner/Admin only)
Section titled “For another staff member (Owner/Admin only)”- Go to the Staff tab.
- Tap the staff member.
- Tap Edit Availability.
- Adjust the weekly schedule and save.
Adding a date override
Section titled “Adding a date override”Date overrides let you handle one-off exceptions without changing the weekly pattern.
- Open the Availability screen (your own or a staff member’s).
- Tap Add Override in the date overrides section.
- Select the date.
- Either:
- Set specific hours for that day (e.g. starting late after a morning appointment), or
- Mark the day as Unavailable (e.g. for a holiday or sick day)
- Save the override.
The override appears in the list below the weekly schedule.
Editing or removing an override
Section titled “Editing or removing an override”Tap an existing override to edit it, or swipe to delete it. Deleting an override restores the day to its default weekly schedule.
How availability affects booking
Section titled “How availability affects booking”When creating an appointment, the time slot picker only shows slots where:
- The selected staff member is available (based on schedule and overrides)
- The staff member doesn’t already have a conflicting appointment
- The selected workstation (if any) is free
If no slots appear for a given day, the staff member likely has no availability set for that day or is fully booked.
